A clear need: Safer and more intuitive lifejacket technology
Professional users at sea require equipment that performs reliably—even in demanding conditions. Traditional CO₂ cylinder locks in inflatable lifejackets have been prone to incorrect installation and unintended release. Regatta set out to raise the standard for safety and usability by developing a completely new locking mechanism.

Robust, intuitive and designed for maximum safety, Safe Lock fits various trigger types and is engineered with function, sustainability and design in mind. The product is also recyclable.
Pla-Mek® has been involved throughout the development process—supplying the mold, selecting the right plastic materials, and optimizing the product for efficient, sustainable production. The mold is designed to support multiple product variants and runs fully automatically—even unmanned at night—ensuring competitive production costs.
Working with Pla-Mek® and Frode Kalleland took Safe Lock to the next level. Their expertise in plastic materials and tooling was essential.

Safe Lock is manufactured locally at Pla-Mek® in Sykkylven—ensuring quality, short-haul production and better control of the environmental footprint.
The design ensures long service life, and the product is recyclable after use. Pla-Mek® has been an active partner in all phases—from concept and testing to full-scale production.
